Horseback Riding Lessons
Students are learning to have clear communication between horse and rider/handler.
Lessons are structured from basic riding to advanced levels. I believe that in learning to have clear communication involves
learning to Not approach a horse "thinking like a human" but to understand how horses think, to teach students what
comes natural to Horses and to be able to communicate in a language that the horse understands. The beautiful thing in this
as that the learning never ends for any of us, it just becomes a much richer experience.
We
Offer 2 Ways to Take Riding Lessons- We have individual lessons that can be tailored to fit
your riding needs or you can go into a lesson program (listed below).
Lesson
plans are geared to individual needs. When entering a group lesson students are placed in a group that compliments
their level of riding. I prefer keeping group lessons small so that everyone gets the instruction they deserve. Usually, no
more than 4 in a group for the beginners.
Riding
Lesson Curriculum Includes:
1. Beginner Level
2. Intermediate Level
3. Advanced Level
Students will learn many different aspects in horsemanship and will be tested before moving to the next level. Listed
here are just some of the different aspects of learning about horses besides the actaul riding: basic horse care, feeding,
parts of the horse, tack and the uses, tack care, proper grooming & bathing, difference in genders, basic wound care, inoculations, taking a horses temperature and the list goes on. We
will take advantage of some rain days for this purpose.
Games
on HorsebacK- Once our students feel confident I like to have game
day lessons. Playing games on horseback is a great way to not only have fun but to further understand using and reinforcing our
natural aids.
Trail Riding
Lessons- begin once students feel confident in their ability to control their horse. Getting out and enjoying
riding on the trail is a great reward!
Certificates
of Completion- Each student will be tested by demonstration, verbal and written exam before moving to the
next level in riding. Students will receive a certificate of completion recognizing their accomplishment.
